De explosieve rechtshandige batsman Shaheryar Butt zal in 2021 uitkomen voor Sparta Cricket. De aanvoerder van de Belgische nationale ploeg maakt hiermee een terugkeer in de Nederlandse Topklasse waarin hij eerder uitkwam voor VOC en Dosti United. Hij komt over van Belgische Eersteklasser Antwerp.
Butt is al jaren een sterkhouder voor zijn land waarvoor hij afgelopen jaar in Luxemburg opzien baarde toen hij in opvolgende interlands, tegen het gastland en Tsjechië, ongeslagen 81 runs (45 ballen) en 125 runs (50 ballen) scoorde. Hij werd hiermee de eerste ooit in het internationale Twenty20 cricket die een fifty en een century scoorde op één dag. Zijn ervaring en kwaliteit regelmatig de boundary’s te vinden zal een versterking zijn van de Spartaanse batting order in alle competities.

The explosive right-handed batsman Shaheryar Butt will join Sparta Cricket in the upcoming 2021 season. The captain of the Belgium national side will make his return to the Dutch Topklasse after representing VOC and Dosti United earlier in his career. He currently transfers from Belgium Eerste Klasse-club Antwerp.
Butt, who’s been a mainstay for his country for many years, caused some sensation last year scoring 81 (45 balls) and 125 (50 balls) unbeaten runs in consecutive Twenty20 internationals. He was the first player ever to record a fifty and a century in T20I’s on one day, leaving the opposition bowlers from Luxembourg and the Czech Republic wondering. His experience and ability to find the boundary regularly will strenghten the Spartan batting order in all competition’s.
