Donderdagmiddag werd er in het Robert Leeninga Pav

Donderdagmiddag werd er in het Robert Leeninga Paviljoen een sponsorlunch gehouden voor R.V.&A.V. Sparta en Sparta Cricket 1888. De besturen van voetbal en cricket mochten op deze middag meer dan 50 gasten verwelkomen.

Van de hand van chefkok Leo Dommershuijsen kwamen de voortreffelijke gerechten die door de dames van de bediening in origineel Sparta shirt werden bezorgd aan de tafels. Onder de gasten tal van bekenden. Hoofdsponsor John van Doorn (D&S) was er, Richard Volwerk van de Kasteelheertjes, Peter van der Burg, Henk van Stee en tal van anderen.
Middels onder andere Danny Langstraat en Martijn Snoep werd de nieuwe generatie potentiële bestuurders en commissieleden goed vertegenwoordigd. Een positieve ontwikkeling.
Tussen de gangen door waren er toespraken van voorzitter Frans Kerpel en ook spreekstalmeester Emile Schelvis voerde het woord.
Al met al was het weer een mooi evenement. Uitstekend verzorgd door de chefkok en door het team van onze beheerster Annemiek. Dank aan allen die hebben meegewerkt!

Blik op oud-Spartanen in Nieuw-Zeeland🇳🇿: Op de eerste foto zien we Mattie Thomas (Sparta 2015) en Trent McGrath (Sparta 2014 & 2015) die dit jaar met hun provinciaal elftal de Hawke Cup wisten te winnen. De heren waren hiermee onderdeel van een zeldzame prestatie aangezien Taranaki deze prijs in 2007 voor het laatst won, gefeliciteerd mannen! 🏆

Op de tweede foto zien we het feestende team van Central Districts dat zich tot landskampioen Twenty20 van Nieuw-Zeeland kroonde🏆. Een belangrijke rol was dit seizoen weggelegd voor Will Clark (Sparta 2023 & 2024) die als batsman 5/6 veel belangrijke runs heeft gescoord. De beloftevolle 23-jarige allrounder blinkt uit bij topploeg Stags en zal ook op de radar van de bondscoach zijn verschenen, gefeliciteerd Will! (rechtsonder op de foto)🎉
